Day 1 : Arrive in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia   (-)

After the custom formalities at the airport/railway station you will be met by your local driver and taken to your hotel. No meals planned for this day.

Day 2 : Ulaanbaatar     (B/L/D)

Breakfast at the hotel. Visit the Gandan monastery and the national Museum of Mongolia. Take a walk in the Sukhbaatar Square, have welcome lunch. Drive for 1 hour to visit the Giant Genghis Monument Complex, the biggest landmark of Mongolia. Return to Ulaanbaatar in the evening, transfer back to the hotel.

Day 3 : Ulaanbaatar – South Gobi (by Flight) (B/L/D)

Take the morning flight to the South Gobi, and on arrival drive to the beautiful Gobi Gurvan Saikhan Park for 1hr. Visit the national park museum that informs guests about the Gobi Gurvan Saikhan National park, its’ flora and fauna as well as dinosaur remains. Then take a walking to the beautiful narrow gorge called Yoliin Amwith occasional views of rare wildlife. Check into ger camp and lunch.  
In the afternoon drive to the Bayanzag Flaming Cliffs – it’s the place where American explorer Roy Chapman Andrews found dinosaur eggs for the 1sttime. We will visit the Bayanzag by foot or car. Enjoy the wilderness and unique nature formations. Explore around for dinosaur remains and walking in the saxaul forest. You can even find real dinosaur bones and eggs yourself! Visit a nomadic family to see their lifestyle, and learn to cook a Mongolian dish (have it for dinner) Watch the inspiring Gobi sunset over the Flaming Cliffs in the evening. Transfer to Ger camp, dinner and rest. Wine walk along with small bonfire.

Day 4 : South Gobi  (B/L/D)

After early breakfast we take a drive to the Khongor sand dunes – Mongolia’s largest and most beautiful sand dunes that stretch over 200km in the arid Gobi Desert. The drive to the dunes at Khongor takes some 3hours, passing through vast desert adlands that span out into the furthest distances, where remote mountains line the horizon. Lone Gers and nomads on camelback hang suspended in the mirages, whilst the desert floor is strewn with a range of colourful rocks and unusual minerals. This is the Gobi at its stark best - there are many opportunities to stop and take photographs of the landscapes and people. Arrive and have lunch. Then visit the sand dunes, climbing and photo opportunities and enjoy 2hr short camel rideat the sand dunes. Return to the Ger camp in the early evening, dinner and rest.

Day 5 : Gobi Desert - Ulaanbaatar (by Flight) – Khugnu Khan Mountain (B/L/D)

Return flight to Ulaanbaatar in the morning, and on arrival we head to the Central Mongolia through the rolling steppes. Today’s drive is about 4hrs, and on arrival we will transfer to Ger camp. We will then take some hiking to the Erdene Khamba monastery ruins in the Rocky Mountains of Khugnu Khan National Park.

Enjoy dinner and watch Mongolian classic movie “Tod Magnai” which is about a horse and horseman, how they train horses for the race and Naadam festival and their love for their horses. You’ll also get some understanding about Mongolian pure hospitality and their nomadic traditions.

Day 6 : Bayan Gobi Sands - Karakorum (B/L/D)

This morning we drive to Karakorum village for 1hr and on arrival, visit the Erdene Zuu Monastery and take part in the morning chants, and the Open Air relic gallery of the 13thcentury shrine of the Khaans. Transfer to tourist Ger camp, lunch.

Then visit the Karakorum Museum and get some information about Karakorum as well as the UNESCO world heritage site Orkhon River Valley. In the evening take some walking to the Turtle Stone memorials and the Phallic stone. 1 hr of horse riding along Orkhon river. Return to the Ger camp (en-suite Ger), dinner and rest.

Day 7 : Back to Ulaanbaatar (B/L/Farewell Dinner)

Travel back to the capital. On arrival, have a city tour which will include the Bogd Khaan Palacewhich is a series of beautiful traditional buildings in which the last religious king of Mongolia resided, and Zaisan Hill located in the south of the city from which you can enjoy a panoramic view of Ulaanbaatar. See a traditional folklore concert followed by farewell dinner.

Day 8: Depart Ulaanbaatar (B)

Your tour ends with breakfast this morning. Airport transfers are provided to connect with your flight back home.
